Abstract
The course of a 23-year-old white woman with malignant hypertension and anuria is described. Urine output returned to normal following 19 days of anuria during which antihypertensive therapy and peritoneal dialysis were instituted. During convalescence, creatinine clearance rose as high as 21 ml/min. The patient is alive 2 1/2 years after the episode of anuria but continues to require treatment for hypertension. Her creatinine clearance is 8 ml/min.Keywords
