Abstract
Transmission of the direct cortical response (DCR) from electrically stimulated to electrically recorded from points of the rabbit brain was shown by means of a variety of cuts to take place mainly by sub-cortical cortico-cortico neurons. A more limited intra-cortical spread was also shown. Evidence is presented for the hypothesis that the response in a transmitted-to region is a post-synaptic one via two kinds of endings; one on the upper dendrites (of pyramidal cells) to give negativity, one on the lower parts of the cell to give a positivity. Keywords
