Abstract
This chapter discusses speech and the ability to speak, which is considered to be one of the basic ingredients of human life. Speech can be considered as species specific and is so much more effective in transmitting the intentions and motivations that shape people's social mesh. The discussion also looks at the blueprint of speech, which is composed of two bipartitioned processing systems that play drastically different roles in speech generation. Keywords
