Abstract
A series representation is modified for the computation of the displacement field around a coherent precipitate of any shape in an elastically-anisotropic cubic crystal. The shape effects are compared with the much greater influences of the anisotropic elasticity. The strain field contrast of a spherical particle in an elastically-anisotropic matrix of cubic symmetry has been computed and agrees with the electron microscope images of coherent Co-precipitates in a Cu-foil. By comparison of the computations with the micrographs the mismatch of the lattice parameters can be determined. Keywords
