Schlingenbildung der Arteria carotis und Arteria vertebralis

Abstract
Von 218 Patienten, die wegen des klinischen Bildes einer zerebrovaskulären Insuffizienz angiographisch untersucht worden waren, wiesen 45 deutliche Schlingen- oder Schleifenbildung an der Arteria carotis oder vertebralis auf. Das klinische Bild entspricht in der Mehrzahl der Fälle der Lage der Schlingenbildung. In Ausnahmefällen sind entweder deutliche arteriosklerotische Wandveränderungen zu finden, oder es muß ein intrazerebraler »Steal«-Mechanismus angenommen werden. Carotid and vertebral arteriography was performed in 218 patients with acute cerebral vascular disorders. Obvious tortuosities (loops and kinks) of the carotid and/or vertebral artery were seen in 45 patients. In the majority of patients the signs and symptoms were in accordance with the site of the tortuosities. In some instances an arterial ‘steal’ syndrome may have been the cause of the disturbances. Aetiology, pathogenesis and surgical treatment are discussed and operative techniques briefly presented.
