Conidium ontogeny in hyphomycetes. The sympodulae of Beauveria and Curvularia

Abstract
The conidium and conidiophore ontogeny of Beauveria globulifera (Speg.) Picard and Curvularia inaequalis (Shear) Boedijn are analyzed by time-lapse photomicrography. Although the conidia of C. inaequalis are porospores (Hughes' group VI), the sympodial extension of its conidiophore axis is shown to be basically similar to that exhibited by the sympodulae of B. globulifera (Hughes' group II).
