Abstract
The traditional inter-disciplinary team approach to planning problems is critically analyzed. A new approach, involving existing specialists in both the “hard” and “soft” socio-economic aspects of urban and regional development, is suggested for dealing with most planning situations. The inter-disciplinary team is seen primarily as a source of innovation or dissent where new departures are called for. Keywords
