Abstract
Metals with a charge-density-wave broken symmetry will acquire a spin-density-wave component if the charge-density-wave amplitude is sufficiently large and if the elastic stiffness constants are sufficiently anharmonic. This effect has implications for the compatibility of charge-density waves with superconductivity. Keywords
