Abstract
The synthesis of Schiff bases, obtained by reacting [alpha]-amino-oxy carboxylic acids with aldehydes and ketones, is described. One of the compounds prepared, viz. [alpha]-(2-chlorobenzylideneimino-oxy)phenylacetic acid, has been resolved into its optical antipodes and its configuration related to that of mandelic acid. Keywords
