Abstract
We present a formalism, encompassing an extension of Israel's thin-wall method, for studying the dynamics of bubbles in generalized Einstein theories. We use this formalism to show that in such theories, no bubble can be homogeneous both inside and out. The evolution equations are designed just in terms of variables in homogeneous outside. Only ordinary differential equations, including the initial constraints, arise from our formalism, which makes it useful for a variety of applications. Keywords
