Abstract
It was found that the bis(N-R,4-decyloxybenzoyloxysalicylaldiminato) nickel(II) or copper(II) complexes (where R = n-CnH2n+ 1, n= 1–10)(series I and II respectively) formed enantiotropic nematic mesophases over a broad temperature range; with low melting points; e.s.r. and X-ray studies showed that these series exhibit different magnetic behaviour. Keywords
