Effect of Nuclear Deformation on Fast-Neutron Total Cross Sections

Abstract
We have observed the effect of nuclear deformation on the fast-neutron total cross sections of 15 deformed nuclei within the region , and five deformed nuclei within the region . The phenomenological nonlocal optical model of Perey and Buck disagrees in these regions with our experimental data.
