Rhabdomyosarcoma of the Urinary Bladder with Metastases

Abstract
This tumor is rare in the urinary bladder and is rapidly malignant. This case showed definite metastases in both lymph glands and portal blood circulation. The myoblastic nature of the tumor is well demonstrated in the lymph gland and portal metastases, yet it is hardly recognizable in the primary growth in the urinary bladder. Ewing quotes Eberth and Wolfensberger as having noted similar characteristics in lymph gland metastases. Histological sections demonstrate very numerous undifferentiated sarco-blasts, and scattered myoblasts in all stages of differentiation.
