Abstract
A series of thiosemicarbazones, closely related structurally to phenylacetic acid and its derivatives[long dash]compounds with growth regulating properties for plants[long dash]was tested against dormant canes of the grape, Vitis vinifera (Thompson seedless). Several of the thiosemicarbazones induced early development of flower initials at the expense of leaf development. In order of decreasing efficiency, these were the thiosemicarbazones of 2,4-dichlorobenzaldehyde, of 3,4-dichlorobenzaldehyde, of 4-chlorobenzaldehyde, and of phenyl acetone. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
