Abstract
Hypotonic solutions of KC1 and NaCl, the cation concn. varying between 20 and 40 mg% produced an increase in frequency of cortical potentials in dogs. Ringer''s solution with added KC1 and NaCl, cation concentration in excess varying between 20 and 100 mg%, had no effect on cerebral cortex. Solutions of 0.9% KC1 altered cortical potentials about 30% of the time. Solutions of 0.9% NaCl had little or no effect on electrical potentials. Keywords
