Abstract
This week, the international consortium in the race to sequence the human genome made two major announcements: They unveiled the complete sequence of chromosome 21, only the second chromosome to be sequenced--and one intricately involved in Down syndrome. At the same time, they announced that they had finished (almost) "phase one" of the project, the rough draft of the human genome. Keywords
