Abstract
A waveguide-based Y-branch all-optical switch has been fabricated using photochromic dye doped polymer. The reversible refractive index change in the photochromic dye using ultraviolet (356 nm) and visible light (514 nm) allows for switching of the device. The switch exhibits a low crosstalk of about –14 dB at the wavelength of 1.55 µm using ultraviolet and visible light. Keywords
