Photodissociation of theμMeson

The cross section for the production of a charged vector boson by the dissociation of a high-energy $\mu$-meson beam undergoing Coulomb scattering has been calculated. The cross section for such a process is (1-3)×${10}^{-34\mathrm{}}$ ${\mathrm{cm}}^2$ in Pb. Possible experiments for the detection of such decays are discussed.
