Abstract
Electron emission material requirements for high pressure mercury and sodium vapor lamps are reviewed. New emission materials, based upon the solid solutions between (1) Ba2CaWO6 and Ba2CaMoO6 and (2) Ba3Y2WO9 and Ba3Y2MoO9, were prepared and investigated in detail. These were found to have many desirable properties and to help significantly in improving lamp life and maintenance during the life. Keywords
