Abstract
This article presents a critical survey of the various attempts that have so far been made in the literature to estimate the likely recreational demand response to changing water quality conditions. Three basic problems which stem from a lack of sufficient empirical data are highlighted, a less than complete understanding of the links between many water quality parameters and pollution discharge rates; water quality perception problems and finally participant reactions to different water quality changes. This publication has 7 references indexed in Scilit:
