Abstract
A new type of multi needle counter is proposed. The repartition of electric field lines imposed by the electrode geometry drifts electrons efficiently from the whole sensitive volume to the multiplicative zone. The high amplification factor facilitates signal acquisition without disturbing the independence of the cells. This article describes a number of tests showing the ability of the multi needle detector with cathodic focusing to solve imaging problems of simultaneous ionizing events. Several applications are described such as the detection of far ultra violet light. Keywords
