Abstract
Human urine was chromatographed on an Amberlite CG-120 column, and eluted with 2 N NH4OH. [beta]-Hydroxyasparagine was eluted between threonine and serine. [beta]-Hydroxyasparagine gave an orange ninhydrin reaction, and showed the Rf values of 0.12 and 0.23 with the use of butanol-acetic acid-water mixture (4:1:1) and 80% phenol, respectively. [beta]-Hydroxyasparagine was also detected in the urines of rat, cat, pig, goat, ox, horse, and monkey. Keywords
