Abstract
Loch Etive is a Scottish fjord subject to fresh-water runoff which renders it markedly brackish. This paper considers the frequency of deep water renewal, developing a model which relates the timing of all such renewals to runoff records. Using the model one can examine the effect of changes caused by interference with the natural runoff pattern. Keywords
