Abstract
We observe a new three-photon nonlinear photoelectric effect in glass with visible cw laser light using a method for measuring very low electron emission rates based on optical levitation of transparent particles. Electrons are pumped into the conduction band of glass by the absorption of two photons and subsequently ejected in a single-photon step. Keywords
