Abstract
Electroluminescence in Buckminsterfullerene has been reported for the first time. The Buckminsterfullerene electroluminescent diode emits visible to near-infrared light with a dull peak at around 530 nm which corresponds to the energy much larger than the band gap energy. The origin of the wide electroluminescent spectrum has also been discussed in terms of energy band scheme. Keywords
