Abstract
A high carbohydrate supply resulted in earlier development and a greater number of adventitious buds on the decapitated hypocotyls of Linum usitatissimum. The nitrati-N supply had a direct relation to the number of hypocotyls producing adventitious buds and the number of buds developed. One-sided illumination lead to formation of buds mainly on the lighted side of the hypocotyl.
