Abstract
The dye dilution curves in 21 patients with atrial septal defect whose diagnosis was confirmed by cardiac catheteriza-tion were compared with 19 patients without shunts. Appearance times were significantly shorter in atrial septal defect when the dye was injected into the pulmonary trunk and into the right branch. In 6 patients in whom the curve was repeated after closure of the detect, the appearance times were significantly longer than before. Keywords
