Abstract
The reaction of a wide variety of Lewis acids with the methoxide ion in methanol is reported. The reactions were followed conductometrically, and where possible the reaction products isolated and identified by analysis. Several new compounds were prepared, including the new hexa-co-ordinate iron complex, K3Fe(OCH3)6.Keywords
