Abstract
External valvuloplasty of the sapheno–femoral junction restores valve function by reducing vein wall dilatation. For this purpose an external prosthetic support has been used surrounding the dilated proximal long saphenous vein. Perforated PTFE or Dacron grafts were used in order to decrease the risk of infection and thrombosis. Keywords
