Abstract
Delivery of service is a complex operation involving a recipient and a provider; milieu factors also influence the outcome. Obstacles arise out of ignorance of the interactions of the participants in this process and because faulty assumptions are made about them. Overriding the obstacles and obtaining better service for elderly persons depend on a better understanding of the dynamic interactions of caregiver, recipient, and the milieu in which a service is offered.
