Abstract
Apramycin, a new aminocyclitol antibiotic, was tested for antibacterial activity, particularly in comparison with neomycin and streptomycin against potentially sensitive animal pathogens. Of the strains tested 99% were sensitive to apramycin, 93% to neomycin and 48% to streptomycin. Apramycin resistance development in vitro was shown to be gradual.
