Abstract
A crystalline quartz plate oriented at Brewster's angle was inserted into the resonator of a CW He-Se+ laser as a birefringent filter. By rotation of the plate in its surface plane, the laser was tuned to 31 established and 10 new lines in the region of the visible spectrum. Filter curves at zero losses were determined experimentally using the emission lines of the laser. The experimental results were found to be in almost complete agreement with theoretically derived curves. Keywords
