Saturation circuitry for redundant number based IIR filters

Abstract

A modified circuit for the design of high performance IIR filters that copes with overflow is presented. The IIR filter is based on a redundant number system and incorporates circuitry that can cope with overflow by saturating the outputs accordingly.
