Abstract
The use of a sensitive immunological system has made it possible to demonstrate insulin in the urine of non diabetic and diabetic subjects with a high degree of reliability and without any preceding concentration of the urine. The 24-hr. excretion in non diabetics as well as in diabetics was found to be of the same magnitdue as that found previously with a biological method based on the blood-sugar lowering effect of an extract of concentrated urines injected intravenously into rabbits. The simplicity of the immunological method affords a basis for routine insulin determination in the urine of various categories of patients. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
