Abstract
The spectrum of the light scattered by a multicomponent fluid is discussed using the thermodynamic approach originally suggested by Landau and Placzek. The structure of the central Rayleigh line is discussed for two particular cases; the infinitely dilute solution of rigid polymers and a binary mixture. Keywords
