Abstract
Two cases of cardiac arrest following the combination of adrenaline infiltration and halothane anaesthesia are described, both occurring during reconstructive operations on the vagina. Both cases recovered with cardiac massage. The special dangers of infiltrating the parametrial tissues may lie in their rich blood supply making rapid absorption and intravascular injection more likely. Wherever the site, adrenaline infiltration during halothane anaesthesia carries with it the risk of cardiac arrest.
