Abstract
The paper describes the submarine telephone cable recently laid between Point Grey and Nanaimo, on Vancouver Island, 52.5 km. in length. It is continuously loaded, being the first cable of this type in use in America. The construction of the cable is described and illustrated and also the method of laying it. A careful study was made of the relative advantages of a continuously loaded and a coil-loaded cable for the conditions obtaining in this case, and the results have amply justified the selection of the continuously loaded type.Keywords
