Abstract
The solubility, octanol/water partition coefficient (Kow) and adsorption on soils and lake sediments of several chemical pesticides were determined. Correlations between adsorption (on an organic matter basis) and solubility or Kow was used to estimate adsorption to within an order of magnitude. Systematic differences in adsorption between the soils and lake sediments were observed. The implications of these differences were discussed. Keywords
