Abstract
A moderately halophilic strain of Bacillus, isolated from unrefined solar salt, was capable of growth in the presence of 4 M NaCl. Maximal growth was obtained in a medium containing 1 to 2 M NaCl. The organism produced protease when cultivated aerobically in media containing 0 to 3 M NaCl or 0 to 2 M KCl. The protease activity was optimal at 0.5 M NaCl and 0.75 M KCl.This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
