Abstract
Past multimodal safety skills training had been conducted on a one-to-one adult to child basis, with extensive professional supervision. The present study utilized no trainer preparation beyond a training manual and was directed toward children in a summer school classroom. In the 4-week session, children gained in proficiency in 9 safety modules, including new modules involving pedestrian safety and bicycle safety. This extension of past research suggests increased cost effectiveness. Potential impact on actual program implementation is described. Keywords
