Abstract
Two hundred and sixty-four student psychiatric referrals were evaluated by the same interviewer using a detailed, precoded questionnaire based on the diagnostic criteria of Feighner et al. (1972). Female sex was associated with secondary and unipolar primary affective disorders. Greater age (over 23 years) was associated with the unipolar primary affective disorder. Race and marital status were not associated with affective disorders. Keywords
