Abstract
Detailed model brightness distributions, deduced from long baseline interferometer observations at 408 and 448 MHz, are presented for 19 radio sources. Notes on the structure of 14 other sources are also included. The smallest scale structure which can be recognized from the observations is about 0.005 second of arc and it appears that none of the sources is completely unresolved. Upper limits to the internal magnetic fields are given for 12 different components of the sources. Most values lie in the range 10 –3±1 G. Linear dimensions and equivalent brightness temperatures are also computed. Typical dimensions and brightness temperatures for components with the maxima in their spectra near 400 MHz are 20–200 pc and $$10^{11} - 10^{12} \,^\circ K$$ respectively. The size of the emitting region in 3C 84 is only about 2 pc.
