Abstract
This paper presents descriptions of five new species of mayflies belonging to the subfamily Heptageniinae. Three of these species are from Illinois, one from Indiana, and one from Maine. They were segregated from material in the collection of the Natural History Survey; all the types are deposited in the Survey collection. The types of most of the previously described species, which are mentioned in comparing and differentiating these new species, were studied in 1942. Study of these types was made possible by travel funds supplied by the Illinois Natural History Survey. Keywords
