Sources of Stress among Nurses: An Empirical Investigation

Abstract
The effect of personality, demographic, and professional variables on nurses' experienced stress is examined through the use of the Nursing Stress Inventory in a mid western Catholic hospital. Findings indicate that age, nursing role status, length of time since graduation, job tenure, area of nursing, and interpersonal needs are associated with various dimensions of stress.
