Negative voltage spike in tokamak disruptions

Abstract
In JET disruptions the negative voltage spike appears after the instabilities with which it is usually associated. This unexpected behaviour is explained in terms of an initial trapping of the poloidal flux and its subsequent release, triggered by a sudden cooling of the plasma.Keywords
