Abstract
Birkhead, M. E. 1978. Some aspects of the feeding ecology of the Reed Cormorant and Darter on Lake Kariba, Rhodesia. Ostrich 49:1-7. A short-term comparative study was carried out on the gut contents and habitat preferences of the Reed Cormorant and Darter on Lake Kariba. Both species fed in the littoral areas of the lake at a mean depth of about 2 m and cichlids represented over 90% by numbers and over 70% by weight of their diets. There appeared to be no obvious ecological isolation between the two species. Keywords
