Second Spectrum of Silver: Ag II

Abstract
The spectrum of silver has been observed in the range 400 Å – 2300 Å using the spectrographs at the Zeeman Laboratory in Amsterdam, at the N.B.S. Laboratory in Washington, and at the St. Francis Xavier University Physics Laboratory in Antigonish. On the basis of the improved measurements Ag II analysis has been confirmed. 4d8 5s21S0 and 4d9 9s3,1D levels have been established. 4d9 6p3p20 has been revised. In the Ag II spectrum 64 additional lines have been classified. Configuration calculations have been made. The parameter values are given. The agreement between the observed and the calculated values of the energy levels is good.
