Abstract
The five-year-"cure" rate was 5% (3 patients), and the five-year-survival rate was 19.5% (12 patients). If the patients with distant metastases at the time of diagnosis are eliminated, the five-year-"cure" rate was 6% and the five-year-survival rate was 22%, Of the 11 survivors at the time of this report, 6 are free of disease eighteen, twenty-one, twenty-four, twenty-five, eighty-six and one hundred fifty-seven months after radiation therapy, respectively. Complications of radiotherapy were only occasionally encountered and were rarely of significance to the patient''s health. Keywords
