Abstract
The incidence of sports-related ocular injuries treated in hospital emergency departments continues to rise,13 and baseball accounted for the greatest number of sports-related eye injuries in the United States in 19914. Although most injuries occur in beginners and amateurs, professionals also sustain serious eye injuries.
