Backward Scattering in the Region from 1.0 TO 2.5 GeV/c

Abstract
Elastic scattering of mesons from protons in the backward direction has been measured to high accuracy. The data indicate that baryon exchange is extremely important for GeV/c. A phase-shift analysis of the data suggests the existence of a resonance in the system at a mass of approximately 2 .
